Measles Are Back With A High Of 704 Cases....
Measles were once out of control with a children dying everyday from complications. The first isolation of Measles was in 1954 by Massachusetts, by John F. Enders and Thomas C. Peebles. The discovery came about after taking blood samples of several sick children.
In 1920 almost 8,000 deaths were reported. In this new era that rate drop almost by 98% due health and environmental changes. This rate drop also is due to immunization. According to the CDC, Measles is a very contagious disease caused by a virus. The vaccine protects against three diseases: measles, mumps, and rubella. CDC recommends children get two doses of MMR vaccine, starting with the first dose at 12 through 15 months of age, and the second dose at 4 through 6 years of age.

Amanda Cohn, Senior Advisor for Vaccines at the CDC’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases said
This increase means that there are about 100,000 children under 2 years old that are not protected against potentially serious vaccine preventable diseases.
What's causing this increase in new cases?
With the rumors of vaccines causing other health issues such as autism, parents are opting out childhood immunizations. Viewing both sides of the debate, there's no proof it causes autism and proof that the disease is contagious with serious side effects. Which side are you on? The decline in the economy is leaving the doors open for needing to work and also more beds for children in daycare.
Is it fair to send your child to daycare with the potentials of spreading the disease to other children? Children under 12 months of age aren't old enough to be protected. Measles causes brain swelling, skin rashes, fever, sore throat, diarrhea , and more if not treated.
All 50 states have mandatory vaccines laws. These laws are implemented to children attending schools and daycare facilities. Children can still attend if there is an exemption involved like for religious purposes. If at anytime an outbreak is declared these exemptions can be override and children be excluded from attending
The trending of antivaxxers has been increasing and it's not until their child gets sick that most understands the importance. There are online chat rooms filled with misleading information about vaccination and antivaxxers are going with the flow. Most spread of diseases in other countries are due to not having the financial means to create prevention.
