A study showed taking calcium supplements may double a person's risk of cancer death. In the Journal Annuals of Internal Medicine, a study showed patients are putting themselves at greater risks of taking calcium supplements in excess of 1,000 mg per day.


Studies also showed no effects of calcium intake from foods. There are evidences that showed Vitamin D intake when there wasn't a deficiency is linked to increased risk of other deaths.


Nutritional supplements are used to fill in the gaps to avoid vitamin deficiencies. Most nutrients are retrieved from the foods we eat. Depending on your daily dietary intake will determine whether you're getting the recommended doses of vitamins from your foods. When was the last time you had your blood checked for vitamin levels?

Calcium falls in the category of fat-soluble and is known as vitamin D. Vitamin D can be obtained from milk and other foods. FDA approved vitamins has a recommended daily dose that should not exceed. Some people has to take calcium supplements due to deficiencies.


Low levels of calcium is called hypocalcemia. Which is low levels of calcium in the blood. While most calcium is stored in the bones. Calcium is one of the body's electrolytes. Minerals are carried through electric charge when dissolved in the body fluids. Hypocalcemia can cause no symptoms while in extreme cases symptoms are noticeable.
